Bharat Furnishings is a luxury brand store that sells soft furnishings like curtains, sheers, upholstery fabrics, household linens,rugs,mats,wallpapers, bed and cushion fabrics.
Their stores are located in six places that includes South Bombay, Vile Parle, Thane, Pune, Surat and Ahmedabad.
This store was started in 1973 by Mr. Raichand Gandhi. The first store was located in Kemps Corner,Mumbai. This store started off with 5 employees and now they have over 100 employees and 6 stores.

From January 2021 to April 2021 I Interned at Bharat Furnishings as an Interior stylist. In the store, I assisted interior stylists during fabric selections, offering guidance based on the images they shared for their clients. For remote projects, I was assigned to make selections over calls, creating collages for clients encompassing upholstery, curtains, and cushion stories. Additionally, I actively engaged in sales, directly assisting customers with fabric and wallpaper choices. Upon selection, I coordinated with tailors and carpenters to ensure accurate measurements and seamless fabric application for the ordered products.

Interior styling is the art of dressing a room to achieve visual appeal, functionality, and the homeowner's taste. A month-long project in Alibaug involved fabric selections for curtains, upholstery, and cushions. The process included providing references, creating collages, confirming choices, coordinating with tailors, obtaining measurements, and post-application follow-ups.

Additionally, I explored Modern Mediterranean style interior design for homes, whether following Spanish or Italian influences. These interiors blend traditional Mediterranean aesthetics with modern comforts, emphasizing indoor-outdoor living and open floor plans. With a focus on a unified color palette and flooring, the design creates a welcoming and chic atmosphere, bringing resort-style living to homes with quality wooden furniture and natural accents.
